2004 Weblog Awards: how to cheat
Wanna know how to beat the 2004 Weblog Awards? Here’s how:
- First, you need Firefox.
- Secondly, go to the Tools > Options > Privacy area.
- Go to the Cookies area. Hit “View Stored Cookies.” Look for the cookies labeled “2004weblogawards.com.” Delete them. Hit ‘OK”
- Now go to “Exceptions.” add “2004weblogawards.com” where it says “Address of website:” and hit “Block.” Hit” OK.” Close the options.
- Load up the 2004weblog awards site. Cast your vote. When the page reloads to the results, hit “CTRL + R” to force a reload. It will ask you if you want to include the POSTDATA information. Just hit “enter” because that defaults to “Yes.” If you use two hands, you can hit “CTRL + R” and “Enter” about once per second.
Watch the numbers climb exponentially. I counted somewhere like ten votes per second being added when I was playing around.
The whole thing is useless. There’s no point in voting or in caring about the results. You cannot beat the fanatics who will do this for HOURS and HOURS just to come out on top.
