Summarize PJM in a single sentence
In a post highlighting Dennis the Peasant’s well-reasoned criticism of OSM/Pajamas Media (which is worth a read if you are even remotely interested in the matter), Kevin at Wizbang succinctly summarizes the smashup in a single sentence.
Anyone who was a fan of F**ked Company back in the day should recognize that PJM has all the signs of a classic F’d company.
Yep. That’s about right. That’ll do ‘er. As I said when I explained why I was going on about this, the real shame is that these are the people the world will point to and say “See? We told you blogs weren’t going to make anyone any money. Look at what a joke they are, they couldn’t even get this thing off the ground with millions of some else’s dollars.”
Now that I see it typed out like that, maybe that right there is the problem. This is someone else’s money. These guys aren’t really risking anything...if this tanks, they got the benefit of playing with all that cash for awhile, they get another line on a resume, and they go bank to their blogs and start running overpriced Blogads again. It’s like winning a hundred grand in Vegas and then turning it back over to the house over the course of the evening...you didn’t lose anything, it was never yours to begin with, right?
By the way, as I read this...on the front page of Pajamas Media...I swear to God I am not making this up...there is a Livejournal quiz result. You know, “You are a ___fill in the blank___, and here’s a cute picture to accompany your new label.” Now, *I* do those quizzes sometimes and I post them here...but I’m not repping millions of dollars and claiming to be a cutting-edge new media revo-frigging-lution, am I? I’m just a big-mouth with a blog.
