Lost is crashing

Last Wednesday, a CSI: NY re-run beat Lost.  The fast overnight ratings showed Lost with a 7.6 and a 12 share.  The CSI: NY re-run got 7.8/13.

If that doesn’t tell the story, I don’t know what does.  This show needs to stop being a snore-fest.  Someone needs to take J.J. Abrams off the show entirely if it’s contractually possible.  He does this every damned time - he comes out of the gate with a great idea, he mucks around in season two, and then he utterly ruins it in season three.  Then everyone milks it until season five so they can syndicate it.

I can only hope and pray that Heroes doesn’t fall apart after this season.  So far they’ve done it exactly right.  You know what else I am really liking lately?  Jericho.  Just enough answers to keep me happy and new questions all the time to keep me interested.

I cannot wait for this network season to be over and for it to be The Shield time.  Vic Mackey could kick this season’s Jack Bauer right up the ass, and he’d eat The Others for breakfast.

I thought this week’s episode of Lost kicked ass.  I tend to be an “enjoy the ride” type though.

Either that or my standards and expectations are lowering with age....sigh

I am still hanging in with the show, but it seems a little Lost this season.

Also, I hate the way the others have gone from evil incarnate to ambiguously sometimes bad and sometimes good.  Soon it will turn out that they are really the good guys, just misunderstood.

That’s when I will bail.

Jericho - oh yeah! That show is starting to heat up, finally.  A little darker in overall tone and the fact that survival is now everyone’s full time job will hopefullt make for some interesting episodes.

My problem with Jericho is that they’re showing the wrong storyline for my tastes.  Take a look at the synopsis for this episode to see all the interesting stuff you’re not seeing.  Every once and a while Jericho seems like it’s becoming a post-nuke Picket Fences.

They need to advance the “6 countries” civil war for the story to get good. focusing on the lame “secret agent” subplot is killing this thing (even though that is the only interesting part they show between the crappy soap opera parts right now).
