Four years ago part 1, part 2 and part 3.
Also, a story I have never forgotten, paratrooper’s account of that day.

I remember taking my son to school, his senior year in HS, and hearing the news about the first plane. I came home to see the second plane hit and then the 2 towers fall. Just like tthe other day in history that affected me too, when JFK was assasinated, I will always remember this day. By the by, my son will turn 22 in Oct.

I remember that I was just finishing up taking a shower when I heard some of the guys talking about something big on CNN. When I got back to my room I flipped to CNN and saw for the first time what had happened. I’m still not sure how I got myself to go to class at the time.

I was just waking up and my alarm goes off to the radio...they were talking about the first tower being hit. I got up and turned on the TV...I just gotten cable so I was watching CNN. The minute I saw the second plane hit I KNEW it was not an accident. I was mesmorized and barely was able to get ready for work. I dropped the kids off at the daycare and picked up my best friend for the drive into work. It was so surreal to be driving on the freeway that goes by the airport and not see a single plane. They closed the office so we went to her house to try to contact my ex husband who was on a ship coming back to california from Hawaii. He had been deployed to Okinawa for the past 6 months and was on his way home. I ended up having to drive to Cali. for the weekend because they could not leave base once they got back into port. I will never forget!

It is hard to believe that is had been four years and I was a college freshman.
